Chairman’s Commentary: To All my Valued Friends and Business Associates

A new year, a new beginning, a new Chairman of the Board for NASGW!

As I step down my duties as NASGW Chair, I want to ask all of our members to become more involved not only with your Association but also with the issues facing our industry. This may be a tough year for all of us as much pending statutes and regulations are being proposed at the local, state, and national levels.

Individually and collectively we need to be heard and active. We cannot rely solely on our organizations to carry the message to our legislators and regulators. If we don’t speak up and provide our insight and concern, others will speak for us and you may not like what they have to say.

For NASGW’s part, we’ll keep you informed, work with our industry partners, make recommendations, and  join coalitions to assist in keeping our message out there.

My involvement in NASGW activities has been an exceptionally rewarding experience. I have gotten and received much more than I gave from my active involvement in NASGW. I hope you’ll also do the same.

Thank you very much for all of the support that you have given to me and NASGW these past two years.

I would hope that you would show the same consideration and respect to our new chairman Mr. Kent Williams. And my sincere thanks to our Board of Directors, our staff and best wishes Kent,  2013 Chair  for a fantastic year. He is a lot better looking and a heck of a lot smarter than me.

I would like to say a BIG thank you also to all the board members and Mr. Moe! After being in this business as long as I have, one can get burned out! When you are in a room with such great and progressive minds as the people on the board, it can only have a positive effect on one!

It sure did for me and put me and the W.L. Baumler Co. back in the ball game!

Jack Baumler, NASGW Chairman of the Board
